Each year, Touraine is increasingly establishing itself as a true musical hub… and even a “Land of Sound” (see below!). Indeed, festivals and musical events abound. Here is our selection, necessarily subjective and limited. But there are many more, as almost every town and village offers its own festival (not necessarily musical) throughout the year, preferably in the summer.
Here are a few of the events that should mark the coming season :
The Spring events :
"Chinon en Jazz" festival :
From June 4th to 8th, 2026: a very family-friendly festival with a highly eclectic program, where everyone will find something to enjoy. Internationally renowned artists perform there, such as Marion Rampal in 2025, or the Camille Bertault Quartet in 2024. The concerts take place in various locations in Chinon, often outdoors (weather permitting!). Another significant advantage of this festival: all concerts are free! "Moorea Festival"
- From June 5th to 7th, 2026: At the Château de Grillemont, in La Chapelle-Blanche-Saint-Martin, near Tours. A brand new festival in Indre-et-Loire, having been created only in 2024. This year marks its 3rd edition. It defines itself as “an ode to DJ music” and already aims to attract more than 30,000 festival-goers! Information and tickets: https://mooreafestival.fr/
The Summer events :
"Aucard" festival
Traditionally held in June (dates to be confirmed), this festival takes place every year on the Gloriette plain, on the south bank of the Cher River in Tours. Founded in 1986 by the FH radio collective “Radio Béton,” it celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. The festival’s primary mission is to promote and showcase emerging artists. La fête de la musique
June 21, 2026: An unmissable event for the French music scene…professional or amateur. As in the whole of France (and now in many countries in Europe and around the world), music will be celebrated on this first day of summer, in Chinon, or in Tours, or in Saumur, or in any small village in the region.
"Avoine Zone Groove" festival
- July 3, 4, and 5, 2026: Created in 2000, this festival celebrated its 25th anniversary last year. It’s a festival with a very warm and family-friendly atmosphere, and its ambition is to remain a “human-scale” event. It has now acquired a reputation that extends far beyond the Centre region. Indeed, it has hosted major artists such as Simple Minds in 2024, or Kool of the Gang, Ben Mazué, The Avener, and Deluxe in 2025. In 2026, the lineup includes Louane, Magic System, and Claudio Capéo, among others. Tickets cost €35 for a day pass or €70 for a 3-day pass. Information and booking: https://www.avoinezonegroove.fr/
"Terre du Son" festival
- From July 10th to 12th, 2026; held at the Château de Candé estate in Monts, near Tours, this “land of sound” festival prides itself on its ethical approach. It’s now a festival of growing importance, and arguably the largest in the Touraine region. Thanks to its increasing success, it now attracts over 50,000 festival-goers drawn by its extensive lineup. For example, in 2025, Damso, Lamomali, and Philippe Katerine were among the featured artists! And in 2026, Feu! Chatterton, Julien Doré, Superbus, Ofenbach, and Héléna, along with many others, were expected to perform. The full program, information, and reservations are available on the website. https://www.terresduson.com/
The Automn events :
"Jazz en Touraine" festival
- From September 11th to 20th, 2026 in Montlouis. This is THE unmissable event on the French and international jazz scene, celebrating its 40th edition this year! The 2026 lineup has not yet been announced (tickets go on sale in June), but let’s remember some of the jazz luminaries who have already performed there, for example Earth, Wind & Fire, Goran Bregovic, Manu Dibango, Michel Legrand, Thomas Dutronc, Alberto Fonseca, André Ceccarelli… Information and tickets: https://www.jazzentouraine.com/
"Voyage en guitare" festival
In September 2026 (dates to be confirmed) in Chinon: as every year, this festival offers concerts by guitarists (or virtuosos of other stringed instruments, sometimes exotic ones like the kora) from all over the world, always of a very high standard. Free admission. Dates and program not yet known.
